The tog ratings range from 3.0-13.5 are based on the duvet’s thermal resistance, which is its ability to trap warm air. For a lightweight summer duvet opt for 3.0 - 4.5 togs, for spring/autumn 7.0 - 10.5 togs and for a winter duvet 12.0 - 13.5 togs. There are combination duvets which normally consist of two duvets, one of 4.5 tog and another of 9.5 tog which should cover you for all seasons. Duvets and quilts can be filled with natural fillings such as duck down and goose feathers or synthetic materials such as Spiral Light, Polyester Hollowfibre and Microfibre Light.
