Superdry History

Despite its branding, Superdry was founded in Cheltenham by Ian Hibbs and Julian Dunkerton in 1985 originally as "Cult Clothing". James Holder, who was at the time running the brand "Bench" came onboard before everyone joined forces to form Superdry in 2003, opening their first store in 2004 in London. When the Superdry brand was first launched, there were only five T-shirts in the collection. This has expanded significantly with Superdry now offering regular collections within its 500+ stores worldwide. The name "Superdry" actually came from a selection of Japanese food packaging labels, where often everything was labelled "super".

Superdry joined Ebay on August 28th 2006 as the "superdrystore". It is the only authorised seller of Superdry on Ebay. Through the Ebay store it has sold over 6.2 million items with 98.6% positive feedback (as of August 2022). Many of these items are shipped direct from Superdry.

Not the category that comes to mind when you think of Superdry, but Superdry also sells a number of home accessories like towels and even pencil cases for school.

Genuine Imperfects

The Superdry Ebay store stocks a number of "genuine imperfects". These items are new but contain small defects. They haven't met the standard to be stocked in Superdry stores but are still worth selling. This works a little bit like a Lucky Dip on some items, but any imperfections will be minor and the products are still new.
