Helly Hansen has a well established brand with quality products. It offers high quality outerwear put together with Helly Hansen's own technology. It's a great choice for walking and hiking enthusiasts and anyone taking part in water sports. The products in general are more expensive than high street outdoor retailers, but the quality is built to last so your investment should last a number of years.
Delivery
Delivery is usually between 2 and 6 days and we love that it is tracked via DHL. Express delivery is available but at quite a steep price, so we wouldn't want to buy anything last minute! We would like there to be a few more delivery options available such as named day delivery, but since standard delivery is reasonably fast and track via courier, we can forgive this.
Returns and refunds
Returns and refunds are free and easy. There's a generous 90 day return policy and your package will include a pre-paid returns label. You will be returning the item to the warehouse in Norway, so refund times may be a little longer than other retailers. While the returns themselves are free, you won't be able to claim a refund on your original delivery costs.
Customer Services
Helly Hansen doesn't offer a huge selection of contact options, but the few they have work well. You can easily contact them via email form online and the customer service assistants are very helpful and prompt to respond. You can also ring them directly which is great for anyone in need of immediate assistance.

Helly Hansen prides itself in making products built to last. It aims to use as many recycled materials as possible and to create recyclable products. With proper care your products should last a number of years. They are constantly researching new recycled materials and are dedicated to protecting the environment. Helly Hansen aims to apply a holistic and scientific approach to all decisions.
About Helly Hansen
The origins of Helly Hansen go all the way back to 1877, where Captain Helly Juell Hansen and his wife Maren Margarethe began soaking coarse linen with linseed oil to help provide protection from the harsh elements. This process resulted in water resistant clothing for sea workers. Going into the 1900s Helly Hansen started designing clothes for different purposes. This included camping gear and rainproof fashionable clothing. Since these times Helly Hansen has continued to be at the forefront of clothing progress, with their Helly Tech providing a waterproof and windproof material that was also breathable. Olympic sailors even used Helly Hansen gear in 1952 Winter games. Originally Norwegian in origin it has changed hands through Canadian companies and in 2018 the company was sold to Canadian Tire. In 2008 they launched Odin, a 3-Layer materialisation system made for mountaineers. This ended up winning the Red Dot Design Award.

Jackets
Helly Hansen has a fabulous selection of jackets and coats for all activities. Shop professional grade ski jackets, sailing jackets and hiking jackets. Mid layers
a mid layer is simply the layer of clothing between your base layer and jacket. They are a great addition for hikers, as having multiple thin layers makes it easier to adapt to changing temperatures. You can combine mid layers with a skin hugging base layer and jackets and hard shells so you're always prepared for whatever lies ahead. Mid layers tend to be thin softshell jackets, fleeces and hoodies.
Trousers
When hiking, sailing or skiing it can be useful to make sure you're legs are well protected. In wet or cold conditions, normal trousers will struggle to keep you protected. Helly Hansen has a large selection of sailing trousers, insulated trousers and rain and ski trousers. If you are looking for something more casual you'll also find a selection of shorts and leggings.

In previous years Helly Hansen has had a large Black Friday sale in late November. You'll find big discounts going direct to the brand and this is by far the best time of the year to find a bargain. However, throughout the year there are often large sales throughout the changing of the seasons. You'll often find discounts of over £100 on their popular coats and jackets

Returns

Helly Tech is a waterproof and breathable outer layer with a unique membrane to help keep water out while allowing sweat to pass through. This helps you stay dry without overheating on the inside. You can shop either professional, performance or protection levels of Helly Tech
Lifa was introduced in 1970 and offered some of the first technical base layers. This fabric is based on a year that wicks moisture away leaving you warm and dry. It works to keep you warm in cold temperatures without overheating.
H2Flow is Helly Hansen's temperature regulation system to keep skiers with comfort and versatility.It can trap air in to keep you warm, or you can use ventilation zippers to quickly cool down. The combination of fabrics also keeps you dry and protects you from the wind.
Lifaloft uses a unique insulation to create air pockets to trap heat. Where this becomes particularly special is that the fibre structure allows Lifaloft insulation to be much lighter than standard insulation, allowing for warm and versatility without the extra weight.
