About AO Outlet

AO Outlet is the official eBay outlet channel of AO World, operated by ElekDirect Limited (Company No. 08328323). It is a separate shopping destination from AO.com and exists specifically for shoppers looking for refurbished, returned and end-of-line domestic appliances at significantly reduced prices. Unlike the main AO.com website - which sells new products with full manufacturer warranties, a 30-day returns policy and a wide range of installation services - AO Outlet operates exclusively through eBay.

AO Outlet is based at the Latchford Building, Weston Road, Crewe, CW1 6NA. Products are assessed and refurbished at AO’s dedicated facility in Telford, Shropshire, before being listed. Over 200,000 items have been rehomed through this process since the facility opened.

What Does AO Outlet Sell?

AO Outlet specialises in the categories that AO.com is best known for: large and small domestic appliances. You can expect to find washing machines, tumble dryers, fridge freezers, dishwashers, ovens and hobs, as well as TVs, coffee machines and vacuum cleaners. Brands available include Samsung, Beko, Hisense, Candy and Amica, alongside AO’s own elektriq brand at budget price points.

Note that AO Outlet focuses on domestic appliances rather than technology. For refurbished laptops, smartphones and tablets, Currys Clearance is better suited.

How Are AO Outlet Products Refurbished?

When an appliance is returned to AO - due to a fault, transit damage or customer change of mind - it is sent to AO’s assessment facility in Telford. Trained engineers inspect, test and repair each item. Those meeting the required standard are graded, repackaged and listed on the AO Outlet eBay store with full condition details. AO states that items refurbished through this channel are to the highest standard and in many cases buyers would struggle to spot the difference from new.

The Telford site also operates as part of AO Recycling, one of the UK’s largest recyclers of fridges and large domestic appliances. Items beyond repair are broken down responsibly for material recovery rather than going to landfill.

Warranty, Delivery and Returns

Every item sold through AO Outlet includes a 12-month warranty provided by AO Outlet rather than the original manufacturer, as these are refurbished products. If a product develops a defect within 12 months of delivery it can be returned under this warranty, subject to assessment. Your statutory consumer rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 also apply.

Delivery is available seven days a week to all UK postcodes. Large appliances such as washing machines and fridge freezers are delivered by a two-person team - the same standard you would expect from the main AO.com service. For queries, the AO Outlet team can be reached via eBay from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday, or by email at customerservice@ao-outlet.co.uk.

AO Outlet and AO.com — What’s the Difference?

The main AO.com site sells new appliances with full manufacturer warranties and AO’s full service offering: nominated-day delivery, installation, connection and removal of old appliances, and a 30-day returns policy. AO Outlet sells professionally refurbished and end-of-line stock through eBay only, with a 12-month return-to-base warranty and a smaller, rotating inventory. If you want a brand-new appliance with the full AO experience, visit our AO page. If you want a great-value refurbished appliance, AO Outlet is the right destination.

Black Friday at AO Outlet

AO Outlet carries discounted stock year-round as appliances move continuously through the Telford refurbishment facility. The outlet participates in eBay’s seasonal promotions including Black Friday in November, when prices can drop further on already-reduced stock. July and August tend to be particularly active months for large appliance stock. Following the eBay store means you will be notified when new items land.
